Meet the Founder

Shannon Centore is the founder of The Spiritual MFT. This inspirational platform was born out of Shannon's years of clinical education and training, personal life experiences, and desire to understand the missing pieces to best help and provide for others emotional and spiritual needs.

While supporting people who were struggling with pain and suffering from their trauma; and a lack of love and understanding from their environments, Shannon discovered the intersectionality of Psychology and Theology. Through her passion for educating others for optimal lifestyle and health outcomes, Shannon created a platform that empowers others to heal their mind, body, and soul through the powerful combination of psychology, scripture, and prayer.

Shannon's most cherished passage is Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Shannon aims to best support and encourage others to live the life God intended for us all.

Shannon holds a BS in Psychology with a focus in Health Sciences from Drexel University, and an MS in Clinical and Counseling Psychology, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chestnut Hill College. She is currently pursuing an Executive Certificate and PhD in Psychology-Theology from Liberty University.

Logo Inspiration

Our logo draws inspiration from the Eye of Providence, also known as  the All-Seeing Eye of God. Coupled with the sign of the cross depicted through rays of light and glory representing the Divine Providence whereby the Eye of God watches over all of humanity.

We at the Spiritual MFT aim to reclaim imagery used for the honor and representation of Jesus Christ, and enlightenment of a new generation of Christians to the rich history of our faith.

Our Mission

We at the Spiritual MFT are passionate about individual, couple, marriage, and family healing through the powerful combination of psychology, scripture, and prayer.

We are dedicated to providing education and psychotherapy from a Christian lens for the repair of psychospiritual issues and soul care. Our Christian values focus on respect, empathy, compassion and kindness for all. We are determined to research, educate, and support all those who have suffered from religious trauma, and re-setting the foundation for what our community and lifestyle rooted in Christian values was intended to be.

We are dedicated to donating 10% of proceeds to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, as our commitment to tithing and rebuilding a community of worship.

We invite you to join us in our mission to create a welcoming and transformative space through Jesus Christ for all.
