Meet the Founder
Shannon Centore is the founder of The Spiritual MFT, a Catholic-centered therapy practice born from her years of clinical education, personal life experiences, and a deep desire to address the emotional and spiritual needs of others. Driven by her passion for helping individuals navigate emotional pain, trauma, and a lack of love or understanding in their environments, Shannon discovered the powerful intersection of psychology and theology.
Throughout her work, Shannon realized that true healing occurs when the mind, body, and soul are nurtured together. Combining her expertise in psychology with the wisdom of scripture and prayer, she created a practice that empowers people to heal holistically and live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
One of Shannon's most cherished scriptures is Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This verse reflects her mission to guide others toward the abundant life God intended for them.
Shannon holds a BS in Psychology with a focus on Health Sciences from Drexel University and an MS in Clinical and Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chestnut Hill College. She holds an Executive Certificate in Psychology from Liberty University and is currently advancing toward her PhD in Psychology-Theology at the same institution.
